Salvete Amici!
My name is Judy Emert. I am a home school mom of four kids, and we are entering our sixth year of Classical Conversations. My children have loved participating in all three cycles of Foundations and Essentials, Challenge A, Challenge B, and we are just starting Challenge 1 this year.
I have always enjoyed helping my community with anything music related, and this year I will be tutoring Foundations for the first time! I also feel blessed to be working with Alexis from Jam With Latin this year to bring modern Latin Songs to you.
When we are not studying for CC, we are enjoying our alpacas, cats and cow at home! We also enjoy going on nature hikes and exploring the outdoors. On weekends we love spending time with friends at church, and singing in choir.
Although I created my CD using AI Technology, I am actually a lifelong musician. I grew up singing Latin as a child in an amazing community chorus. I attended the University of Rhode Island and obtained degrees in both Music and Accounting. While at the university I took courses on music composition. I am a pianist and singer who has been involved in church music ministry for many years. All of my children are musicians as well, and they play cello, violin, and piano. They are also blessed to be part of an amazing community orchestra with amazing teachers.
Even with all of the musical training we have been blessed with, over the years I have learned that without Jesus we can accomplish nothing of value. I thank God for helping us finish this Latin resource for you. I also thank my mom and dad who heavily invested in my education and my musical journey throughout my childhood.
May God bless your home-school year abundantly!
A few of my life verses are:
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."John 3:16
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."John 15:5
